Alcohol plays a role in New Year’s arrests in Barrie

Barrie Police had 140 calls for service from 4 p.m. Dec. 31 to 4 a.m. Jan. 1, with alcohol playing a role in each case. Sixteen men and three women were arrested and face a variety of charges including being drunk in public and impaired driving.
